Don't think i am posting in the right area?? But need a reply ASAP..

Friend has a personal income tax liability to the ATO he needs to pay this week. ATO says payments less than $50,000 will be accepted by credit card. So can he split it up and make three separate payments all under $50,000? (As the the total liability is in 6 figures) All this week? Then his points balance will be nice and healthy.. ;)

cheers gogo

EDIT: Please move this down to the Credit Card forum.. Totally forgot we had that section.. Sorry Mods..

Yes he can.

Make sure he's aware that if he wants to claim the payment surcharge as a tax deduction, the credit cards MUST be in credit before he charges them (i.e. he must use his own money to pay the personal tax liability, rather than borrowed money).

Citibank stopped doing points for ATO in March so make sure he does not use anything Citi.

Thanks for that! Yes. Has an ANZ card.. Will pass the info on! Much appreciated..

cheers gogo.
