Hi all,

I am planning a return trip from PER to CDG and wanted to check on a few things.

We will be using SQ for one way and another airline (not sure which yet) for the return.

Am trying to decide which way would be better to fly on SQ, keeping in mind PER<->SIN would be in J as there is no F on this leg, then SIN<->CDG would be in F. My main thought here is that if we do the CDG-SIN flight in F then the SIN-PER flight would be in J, would we still get into the F lounge in SIN, my gut feel here is no.

The other thing is having a look on the website I cant find a way to book PER-SIN-CDG in one booking due to no PER-SIN F flights. Does that mean I need to book PER-SIN one booking then SIN-CDG in another? Can they then link them up or do we just take the risk of the first flight possibly being delayed?

Thanks in advance,
Lawrage

Arriving F into SIN you will have first class access.

You need to call SQ to do a mixed class booking. Should be at the standard F class price for the through fare.

Not all the SQ telephone staff understand the mixed class booking at the F rate and will try to do 2 separate bookings which costs more points. You need to be firm and tell them to check with a supervisor if necessary.

Sorry mew not following you here. I would have though the two separate bookings would be cheaper as the PER-SIN leg then isnt on a F rate?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding.

Check the redemption chart and you will see:

Per-CDG in F is 115 00 points ( less 15%)
Per -Sin in Business is 32500 plus Sin-CDG in F is 107500 which makes 140 000 (less 15%)

So if you insist on the F mixed redemption is should only cost you 97750 vs 2 bookings is 119000.

However, sometimes you may choose to pay for the 2 bookings as there may not be availability for the mixed F but still be availability for the 2 separate bookings. Sounds strange but it is not an uncommon occurrence. I have waitlisted before and it has come through, other times not.

As mew points out it might be worthwhile to take a couple minutes to look at the award charts and the other terms, conditions and benefits of the program of the program. It can save you a lot of points.

I've recently booked a similar trip, using KF points to fly SQ one way and QF points the other. My decision was governed by availability. Multiple options of dates/times flying SQ F either way, but with QF there seemed to be more options going than returning (e.g. no QR F and limited EK F ex Europe.) Thought I'd mention in case your situation is similar.
