Hi all,

First of all, a big shout out to DJ who matched my QFSG to DJG today... Only three days after I signed up for it.

Meanwhile, I have booked a getaway for myself and MsChooms PER-DPS-PER for a few days in sept so hopefully the gold status will give me something.

One thing I am particularly after is lounge access (mainly for PER international because I realize DPS might be a bit of a stretch).

Now I know we can't use the air nz reciprocal lounge (the QP) so can we use the SQ lounge even if we are flying DJ/Pacific Blue???

If not, any other lounge we can use?

If only QFSG allowed anytime access....

From what I can see on the Velocity website (https://www.velocityrewards.com.au/content/Status/GoldStatus/GoldLoungeAccess/index.htm) you won't have any luck in PER - I think you'd have to be travelling on a Singapore Airlines flight.

BUT! I was just in DPS, and there is a shared lounge - although Virgin aren't one of the airlines with complimentary access, you can pay to get in. I can't remember exactly how much it was, but it was a reasonable lounge - definitely beats the DPS departure gates.

Enjoy Bali

ok, i clearly don't have enough to do at work this afternoon (the blue sky outside my window is very distracting). anyway, found more info - it's the JAS Premier lounge, and paid entry is 250,000 rupiah pp (about $28 at current exchange rates). Wiki have a little info and some photos here: Denpasar / Bali (DPS) Independent Premier Lounge - LoungeGuide.net

have you been to bali before? it was my first trip, but packed a bit in - can give you a great restaurant recommendation if wanted :)

The comprehensive page for DJ SG/WP lounge access is located at:
Lounge Access with Velocity Membership | Velocity Frequent Flyer

In terms of lounge access at PER T1, you can only access the SQ Lounge or NZ Partner if you are flying and ticketed on the respective carrier.

I'd hope that DJ have something in the works for lounge access such as tying up with SQ (because god knows they wouldn't want to partner with QF or even MH as they're going *O).

I do think that doing something about lounge access at international airports should be very high on VA's to do list. The ANZ option is fine but obviously doesn't work at several ports or when flying to the pacific or other (non NZ) short haul with Pacific Blue. Would be nice if the friendly reps here could pass that suggestion on to management. Obviously the SQ lounges are an option but their opening hours may need to change for that o really work.

Nope first time.

Staying at W Resort and Spa at Seminyak. Have been told to go to Ku De Ta at some stage but all recommendations welcome!

ok, head to dinner at the Living Room in Seminyak - lovely food and ambience (http://www.thelivingroom-bali.com/).

We also did an eco bike riding tour with these guys - http://baliecocycling.com/ - which we got for a discounted price of 340,000 rupiah per person (about $40-45 at the current exchange rate) - just ask them for a discount. It was really good - it's almost all downhill, so not strenuous at all - just don't forget to wear sunscreen .
