As per thread title, we open the doors of The Lounge in PER this Friday. It will be a soft opening with the official launch in late January 2010. I was in there last week during fitout and like that the layout is compartmentalised so it doesn't feel like a barn even though it it quite big at 540m2

cheers

Crazy - 540sqm is not large for a lounge in perth. Does it reflect Virgins level of commitment to the WA market?

Spruce, when measured as Lounge floor area per passenger we put through the terminal I assure you it compares very favourably to SYD, MEL & BNE, which does indeed reflect our level of commitment to the WA market. Another indicator: we have 4 E190s based there now, up from zero a year ago.

cheers

Great stuff, I look forward to checking it out. Maybe Perth-based Lounge members could be invited to the opening? :D

Happy to see what I can do to arrange VIP invites for anyone who PMs me their details. All Lounge members will be notified of the new addition through normal member communications, but don't know offhand if local members will be invited to the opening.

Its larger than the current QP, more important question is when is the beer available, locals are still rioting over the change from Noon to 2PM for the QP!

Hey crazydave,
When is the official opening?
I am over there late Jan and keen to finally see the lounge up and running.

Cheers

If only DJ were to join *Alliance or Sky Team. IMO, l think that people would be willing to jump if there someone else in Oz who offered points redemption on a "global network". Pity. Now that QF has also left the NZ market, what is DJ waiting for. Teaming up with Air NZ, star alliance would fill a huge hole.

On the Virgin Lounge side of things, it said in the fine print that alcohol would be served from 11am. Trumps QF 2pm rule. Then again, anything can happen between now the first bottle been opened.
