Hi all! Thought I'd throw this question to the travel gurus out there.

I booked Virgin redemption tickets (Velocity plat member) from PER- SIN with Singapore air - arriving 19:10 and flying from SIN-DXB on Emirates - departing 21:10. Question I have, as I normally fly connecting flights and transit on single ticket, I've decided to fly Emirates to Dubai and curious as I only have ~ 2 hours from landing to next departure whether ill have enough time to: go through immigration, grab bags and recheck, and make it to security for my next flight?

When I've transited before on the single ticket flight things have always been quite smooth just stressing a bit I may have shot myself in the foot by only allowing 2hours.

Just so I understand ;

1. You have booked 2 redemption tickets. TKT1 is PER-SIN on SQ and TKT2 is SIN-DXB on EK. These are 2 separate tickets and are not on the same PNR? If the answer is yes, then you will have to clear immigration on landing in SIN, collect bags, go to Departures, check-in (if not done online already), drop the bags, clear security and board the EK flight.

You may also check at PER SQ check-in if it possible to have your bags tagged all the way to DXB - depending on the interline baggage rules, they may or may not do it, worth an ask I'd say.

Edit: A quick google search says that SQ interlines to EK (according to this link Which carriers does Singapore Airlines interline with? - The MileLion) however, this article is from 2022. As mentioned in the article, interlining bags is not always guaranteed. Good luck.

Thankyou so much for your response!. Yes ive booked redemption flight (Business) with Singapore air and purchased separate ticket for Emirates (Business) to DXB. I assumed id would have to clear immigration unless taking carry on was concerned 2x hour timeframe might be cutting the mustard.

I wouldn't be stressed in the slightest if it was all on one ticket. Not a chance that I'd be comfortable with this on an unprotected connection. 2 of the 17 flights so far this month for SQ226 have been 'very late' or 'excessively late'. You'd have missed your onward flight if you were on either of these.
