Hi peachy3333, welcome to AFF! While a lot of members on this forum will not fly Garuda, for the route considered I don't see any huge risk with them.

What dates are covered by the sale?

Just looked at Air Asia on your dates, $800 return, and thats before baggage and seat fees.

I got MEL-KUL-STN-KUL-AUH-KUL-MEL for only $930 incl bags and seats.

I did some quick searches and a lot of the near flights have already been gone!

The earliest i could find was Tues 10/11/09, come back Tues 17/11/09, $275 incl tax. which is cheap still~

Pretty sure end of jan and feb is still available

I've just booked PER-DPS-PER, for two on the 15th of November for $280 each through the Garuda Perth office (1300 657 707).

Apparantly they are using brand new 737-800's on this route, the price is for full Y service including 20kg luggage.

This special ends Saturday, but flights may be booked for travel up to 31st March.

I'm almost tempted to book a couple more for March, it sure beats any cut-price specials with AirAsia, Jetstar or Virgin!
