i'm thinking of requesting an upgrade to Business class for a flight next week which will cost me 16K points. Just wanted some thoughts on whether flying business class on the older 767-300 would be worth it considering the relatively short flight. Is there service, food and comfort worthwhile from your personal experiences?

If not already booked in J, I upgrade whenever possible but I guess it also depends how many points you have as they may potentially offer better value elsewhere. I have 7-figure points, so 16k is trivial.

767 may be a bit old but any J is ALWAYS better than Y;). Lunch onwards flights are better if you wish to partake of the drinks and food to feel like you're really getting your points worth:p.

I flew PER-MEL J class last December. Was actually in a brand new A330. Very nice and well worth the points!

The 767 in J is OK (as long as the headrest isn't broken and digging into your shoulders). The food quality on PER-SYD/MEL routes does it for me, so much better than Y. Seats also far more conducive to sleep if flying late in the day and want a few z's.

However if the schedule suits, I'd look at changing to a flight serviced by an A330 and go to J on it.

However you should aim to fly on the "new" A332's not the old one with JQ seating in J.

The "new" QF ones have AVOD and much nicer seats.

However J on a 738 is still better than Y.

I really wanted to fly on the new aircraft but i'm having to return on the 13.45 which is the 767. The 16k upgrade wont really make a huge dent in my points balance so I'll probably request the upgrade as much of the feedback has been positive!

That was the meaning behind my last comment.

Any J on any aircraft is better than Y on that aircraft.

More room, better service and a better class of people:shock: :rolleyes:all combine for a nicer flight.
