I've noticed over the past month or more that every time I load an AFF forum page, I see a phantom notification count (in the top right corner) for about half a second. The count varies between 1 and 5 and then disappears.

This occurs on all my devices (mobile and desktop) and incognito makes no difference so it's not cookies/cache.

Known issue, or any thoughts what it could be?

I've had the same thing happening. It seems to occur when you have notifications that you haven't resolved (by viewing the thread) after clicking on the notifications icon (the bell). I can see from your video you have an outstanding notification related to the thread about suing Emirates. My guess is that you'll have 3 others unread. If...

Not sure if this is intended, but at least it resolves the issue.

It should be the highlighted notification that hasn't been viewed (Emirates thread and any others in your case) as while you've seen the notification, you haven't dismissed it. You can do so from the notifications pane without actually opening the thread though. It has occurred for me before and flummoxed me for a bit.

At the end of the day it is potentially a bug with the software, not with us/anything we can fix or change.

Thanks very much - that's what it was. I guess it loads all the alerts then does something client-side to determine which I've seen but not clicked on.

Completely understand.
