Plat Charge companion card Q: Explorer instead of Reserve possible?

Has anyone managed to get Amex to issue an Explorere instead of a Reserve as a (fee-free) companion card? I'd much prefer the 1.5 points per dollar spend +$400 travel credit than the free flight with the reserve.
