Of the 3600 SCs required for P1 renewal, QANTAS provides 1800 as part of the Status Credit Rollover program. Is there any rollover provided towards the 2700 sub-threshold for QF flights?

I have to say, I was hoping this would have been fixed by now. The 1,800 rollover SC and the SC from points club reward flights are not counted towards the 2,700 QF SC. I'm hoping the fact I will be renewing P1 by end of December and therefore have accumulated more than 2,700 QF SC this year I will be able to convince QF something is wrong with their P1 rollover calculations.

Correct defurax.

“You need 1800 more status credits (to retain P1) of which 2700 more status credits are from QANTAS marketed flights” just doesn’t seem to compute.

The 1800 does count towards QF flying for the 2700 requirement but the great IT system gitch does not reflect this.

Basically for those that get the full rollover the requirement then becomes 1800 SC with 900 SC on QF/JQ.

Obviously the numbers vary depending on the amount of rollover earned but whatever that is is counted as QF for this purpose as I understand it.

Thx for that - I was hoping that’d be the case because I earned more than 1800 SCs last year on QF. Was hoping the 1800/900 as you outlined would be the outcome (although I think the 2700 is QF only and not including any JQ - that’s how my tally grew last year as I kept track of it).

if in doubt just contact the VIP Service Team to confirm for you. They are aware of the issue iirc.

I'm curious, when you contact VIP regarding the QF SC content of the 1,800 SC rollover do they actually say something like: "yes we see all 1,800 of them are QF or I see 1453 of the 1,800 SC are QF". i.e. do they actually have an algorithm but have decided never to implement it on customer facing interface?

That's a good question, but I can't answer it because I had over 1800 on QF in the previous year in the first place.

I can confirm, though, that there was some checking, and an agent telephoned me back advising that my 1800 rolled over SCs also contributed to the 2700 QF marketed and operated criterium. It's probably likely that if there were only 1453 last year on QF, with the balance on JQ and other partners, that 1800 might roll over towards the 3600 and only 1453 roll over towards the 2700. I'm just speculating on that though.

While I have nothing to confirm this I do not think these rollover SC's differentiate in this regard. The idea is to help us along to retain under the premise that due to pandemic we did not get the opportunity to fly all of those SC's with the assumption they could have been QF. I think it's basically a "we may give some rollover SC to some that weren't strictly QF" but it's probably all comes out in th wash. Plus, before the extensions started in 2020 any P1 had already earned the 2700 required, so I suppose one could almost see the rollover as being a nod to the original earn even if in the most recent membership year the 1800(or more) that were earned may not have all been QF. Basically it's simpler for them. These rollovers and extensions have been very generous imo so I don't think the ntent is to stiff anyone or make it harder. After all say one has 1800 rolled over (which I did incidently) - there's still a minimum 900 earn requirement in the new membership year...

but as always happy to be corrected on this. It's an interesting question for sure, specially if someone earned 1800 on OW/EK etc and did not set foot on QF how that might work. I imagine any examples like this would be very rare in the ranks of P1, so QF is probably not going to worry too much about those outliers, or even some who may have say earned half QF metal and half elsewhere.
