Platinum Edge fee increase

Just received an email from American Express stating the annual fee has been increased $50 to $195.
That's a 34.48% increase! :shock::shock::shock:

The email I received from Amex today was in response to a query I made regarding a discrepancy in the annual fee quoted on the card page and then on the referal page. One was $149, the other $195. Now rechecking I note in response to my query today the fee noted on the referal page has been amended back to $149pa even though Amex told me the fee was to be increased. Looks llike it was a typo after all.
