Hey all,
Currently I have been using the Jetstar Mastercard (1 Qantas point per $1 spent - up to 100,000 points per year) for my day to day purchases where Amex is not accepted. To my disappointment/annoyance, I received an email from them saying they have changed their TOC's from 24/10 to the following:
From 24 October 2016, you will earn 1 Qantas Point per $1 spent on eligible purchases for the first $2,500 spent per statement period, then 0.5 Qantas Points per $1 spent for the remainder of that statement period.
I put everything on my cards so I exceed the $2,500 "1-for-1" spend pretty easily. Thus I will be earning far less points from 24/10 onwards.
I took a look at a couple of other "1 Qantas point per $1 spent" Mastercard/VISA cards and found plenty of them have now introduced capping. For example:
Citi Rewards Credit Card - Signature with Citi Qantas Rewards (70,000 bonus Qantas Points)
Woolworths Qantas Platinum Credit Card (16,000 bonus Qantas Points)
HSBC Platinum Qantas Credit Card (60,000 bonus Qantas Points)
Macquarie Black Card (40,000 bonus Qantas Points)
I did note that the following cards appear to have no capping but still offer "1-for-1", however there is no promotion points to be earned.
Seems there is a real trend towards points capping but lots of promotional points, or no capping but on promotional points!
What I am after:
Any suggestions? It seems like I am asking too much nowadays
Not sure what the best option as I generally exceed the caps described above - any other options?

Citi Rewards Credit Card - Signature with Citi Qantas Rewards (70,000 bonus Qantas Points)
- 1 Qantas point per $1 spent on eligible domestic purchases up to $3,000 per statement period
- Earn 0.5 Qantas points per $1 spent up to $10,000 per statement period
Woolworths Qantas Platinum Credit Card (16,000 bonus Qantas Points)
- Earn 1 Qantas Point per $1 spent on eligible purchases for the first $2,500 spent per statement
- Earn 0.5 Qantas Points per $1 spent for the rest of the statement period
HSBC Platinum Qantas Credit Card (60,000 bonus Qantas Points)
- 1 Qantas Point per $1 spent up to $2,500 per statement period on eligible purchases in Australia and overseas
- 0.5 Qantas Points per AU $1 spent thereafter
Macquarie Black Card (40,000 bonus Qantas Points)
- Earn 1 Qantas Point per $1 spent on eligible purchases on up to $4,000 spend per statement period
- Earn 0.5 Qantas Points per $1 spent on eligible purchases for the remainder of that statement period with no points cap

- Bank Australia Platinum Rewards Visa Credit Card
- Qudos Bank Visa Platinum Card
- G&C Mutual Bank Platinum Visa Credit Card

What I am after:
- 1 Qantas point per $1 spent with no capping (or 1 Qantas point per $1 spent up to say $6,000 per statement period, with 0.5 points for $1 after that)
- Plenty of promo points (say 40,000)
- not too worried about the annual fee (the promo points more then make up for it)
Any suggestions? It seems like I am asking too much nowadays
