POINTS earn on MEL BNE NAN ????

Just returned from a fantastic holiday to Fiji... Checked my points earn and its allready credited (Within 12hrs of landing-- good job) BUT I think its wrong....

So I would appreciate your thoughts re points earn rates ?
I'm all clear on the status credits but the points earn i'm not in regards to the situation below. (Nor is the website or the call centre if you call them and press them to show you were it says earn is only from origin to destination for POINTS.):evil:

The flights I just returned from are outlined below.
MEL - BNE on Virgin Blue
BNE - NAN on Pacific Blue

Then returned 9 days later via the reverse order. Booked on 1 ticket as a return - Flexible M fares on all legs, no "Stopovers" except for the stay in NAN

So using web flyers mileage calculator, MEL - BNE - NAN (2537 miles) x 2 = total of miles 5,074 mils at 1point/mile = 5,074 points....
BUT I have been credited as though I flew direct from MEL to NAN. (This would be correct for status credits) but from what the website says, the points should be based on miles flown.
So my points earn was MEL - NAN = 2420 miles / points each way = 4,840 points.

So which is correct?

Were you really able to book MEL-BNE-NAN return on the one itinerary? ... Last time I tried to book a domestic flight connecting to an international flight, the site refused to accept it, and said that domestic and international flights could not be combined on the one itinerary, but could be booked separately. This may have changed since then...

Nonetheless, you should have earned 5 Velocity points/$1 SPENT (not per mile traveled) on your MEL-BNE and BNE-MEL flights on Virgin Australia, and you should have also received a 50% Gold status bonus on top of that (effectively 7.5 points/$1AUD spent).

As M class earns 1 point per mile, you should have actually earned a 50% bonus on top of this as a Gold member. I suggest you login to Velocity and verify that it still shows you as a Gold member (or that you were a Gold member at the time you traveled), and then view your recent activity - Gold bonus points should appear in the middle column separate to the original number of points. Would you mind posting a screenshot of your activities table? (Login, click My Activities on the left, and your most recent flights will appear at the top which will show which parts of the flight have been credited, and whether or not any bonus points have been awarded)

Edit: I've just seen that your flight was today or yesterday. Be aware that Virgin Australia domestic flights can take a couple of days to appear on your activity history, and for the points to come through.

I booked on the Virgin Australia website as a MEL to NAN flight. This gave me 2 options, either MEL NAN direct or the cheaper MEL BNE NAN option that i selected.

Re the GOLD Bonus, i did receive these on my account also but based on the MEL nan flights......

Not sure about the 5 points / dollar on Virgin Aus as they have calculated it as tough it were all Pacific Blue which is now miles based for points. .... again inconsistent.

I rang them and they arent ant clearer. They said the supervisor told them its based on the direct flight distance, but when i asked them to refer me to where in the website it said that, they couldnt...... just kept referring to the clause related to SC's and said "so it must be the same then"...
