I was just querying about the amount of point earned during my last trip.


Abu Dhabi to CDG flight earn was: Base 4877 and bonus 3252


My understanding is that as a platinum member, the bonus should be 100% and therefore the bonus points should be 4877.

Am I missing something?

What fare class was the booking? The bonus is on the base miles, which may or may not be the same as the earn rate. Here's an example from my account:

27 Feb 13 24 Feb 13 Los Angeles-Melbourne VA0024 160 11,916 7,944 19,860

Travel was in I class, so 1.5 points per mile flown (LAX-MEL is 7944 miles). Being that bonus points are calculated based on actual miles flown (7944) - for a total of 19860 points for that flight.

The information notzac provided is correct and you have earned the correct bonus as the bonus is calculated on miles flown. You actually earned one more bonus point than you should have according to the calculator!
