Hi all

Just a quick one. Do non-OW codeshares flying on QF flight numbers earn as if they were a QF flight?

Just thinking about future flights to India and there is a codeshare on Jet Airways flying SYD-SIN-DEL and I might consider that for the team up to DEL (althogh my boss wont fly Jet after delays in DEL meant they missed a connection in SIN...)

Cheers

S

As long as the flight number is QF and you're not flying on Jetstar, I believe you would earn QFF points and status credits just like a regular vanilla QF flight. You would also be able to receive QFF status bonuses.

You can earn points but not status credits if you fly a non-oneworld QF partner airline (like 9W) and the partner airline's flight number is used. (The only non-oneworld exceptions are Jetstar, of which we know only select cases where points and status credits are awarded, and Air Pacific). QFF status bonuses also do not apply in this case.

the interesting thing is that it doesn't explicitly state "Status credits ARE earned on codeshares". It only states that they arent earned on JQ codeshares.

Ah well - still a long way to go until Nov... and Kingfisher might be on board OW by then...

The earning table is full of that type of issue - which is unfortunate. I wish Qantas would find a way to tidy it up and make it more understandable to everyone.

I do note that Qantas have significantly refined their earning table for QF flights:
Code:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Qantas (QF) EGLMNOQSV Discount Economy 1 -
X (when booked as an Any Seat Discount Economy 1 -
                  Award only)*
BHK (International) Discount Economy 1 -
BHK (Australian domestic) Economy 1 -
YBHK (Qantas marketed operated Economy 1 -
                  by Jetstar)
                  Y Economy 1 -
                  RTW Premium Economy 1 10%
Z (when booked as an Any Seat Premium Economy 1 10%
                  Award only)*
                  CDIJ Business 1 25%
U (when booked as an Any Seat Business 1 25%
                  Award only)*
                  AF First 1 50%
P (when booked as an Any Seat First 1 50%
                  Award only)*
                  ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Status Credits are earned on all eligible booking classes.
                  * Qantas Segments booked in X, U, Z or P classes are eligible to earn
Points and Status Credits only when booked as part of a Qantas & Jetstar
                  Any Seat Award.
Excluded: Points and Status Credits are not earned on Qantas codeshare
flights (ie flights with a QF flight number) operated by Jetstar other
than in Economy classes of B, H, K or Y.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Still, "Status credits are earned on all eligible booking classes." (aside from the JQ exclusion) indicates that a flight segment with QF flight number booked into an indicated fare bucket is eligible to earn SC's.
