Recently I had a trip SYD-DUD (return via BNE all on VA metal). A few weeks before departure I was informed that my last BNE-SYD segment had been changed to a later flight, someone called me to confirm this was okay about one week before departure (I had asked not to be moved, as the flight they had moved me to was the last one, and had a strong chance of cancellation. In a fit of honesty the woman on the phone told me that there was no flight at that time anymore, as "the company has crunched the numbers and deemed that it is more economic not to offer that flight").
As predicted, on the home leg my BNE-SYD flight was cancelled due to the dreaded SYD curfew. No major probs, the lounge angels were lovely and I was put up in the Sofitel with a meal voucher and some cabcharge vouchers.
However, I can't get the damn BNE-SYD flight to credit. They didn't come up organically like all the others, and retro claims (and I've tried them for all flights - the one I took and the cancelled ones, just in case that was the issue), but they say that I can't make a claim as records indicate I did not take that flight (even for the one I did actually take). Anyone experienced this quagmire and know of a way out of it? Is this because my original flight was cancelled (and then I was put on yet another flight at last minute after my cancelled-flight replacement was cancelled)
It's particularly frustrating as I'm only about 230 points shy of a redemption I want to make! I'm not trying to get one over anyone, just get credited for a segment I did actually pay for.
