Last year I had a number of DJ flights that I had to forfeit due to business alterations. All of them were cheapies, so no great problem.

What I was wondering though, is since DJ domestic flight rewards (FF and status) are based on the dollar spend, not miles flown, why then was I not credited with the points? After all, I did pay for the flights.....!

In the T&C's they do specifically exclude points for flights not taken:

11.5. Points and Status Credits will not be awarded for tickets which are unused (in whole or part) or refunded (in whole or part). If you do not travel on all sectors of a ticket, you will not earn Points or Status Credits in respect of the unused sectors

Qantas is the same, most (all?) other airline loyalty schemes are the same, and most hotel loyalty schemes also have similar restrictions.

Yes, I gathered that and it sucks ;)

Stamping my feet won't help, I suppose?

Good exercise, Unlikely to get it changed though ;)

It's purely to close off certain loopholes that could be abused to earn status. (Not so much for the DJ scheme, but certainly for the Qantas scheme).

Is pretty frustrating when you completely lose the value of a ticket.
