apparently I don't get points because it was a 3rd party booking.
This sux, because even Priority club allow points. has anyone had any luck getting points through a 3rd party booking?

This can be pretty common to most hotel loyalty programs

PC does not provide points for third party bookings either:

Qualifying Room Rates booked through IHG central reservation offices, IHG web sites, travel agents or directly at the hotel.

I've had mine booked through third parties and got points.
You can find some staff members who insist on saying you don't get points. a simple call or email to the priority club fixes it up.

But not always!

If you can sometimes earn points outside of the T&C of the program, all well and good, but one should not come to expect to do so every time.

serfty is right.

Just ask to add your PC number at check-in. If they fight back, just say for incidentals or to keep track of billing, or some rubbish like that. You might get lucky. I did at the intercontinental Wellington (booked one night via wotif, got points)

So does that mean the only way to earn A Club points is to book through the official Accor website? ie if I book through expedia or wotif - forget it?

I had 7 nights at the Mercure Welcome in Melbourne last year and as I booked it through bookings.com I was told on check in that I wouldn't get any A Club points-
and I didn't.
I didn't learn from my mistake either because I later booked 4 nights at the Radisson on Flagstaff with the same website and missed out on Club Carlson points as well.
Moral of the story for me is if you want loyalty points always use the official website for the property concerned.
Cheers

Well I just returned from 2 weeks in UK and Europe mainly staying at Sofitel and Pullman, where I afterwards received the following:

"Accor hotels would like to thank you for your loyalty. Booking on acccorhotels.com is a sure way for you to get the best rates, earn Le Club Accorhotels points and benefit from all the advantages offered by your loyalty program.

Because your last stay was booked by another online service, you did not get to enjoy all the privileges regularly reserved for Le Club Accorhotels members.

Remember: by saving your contact information on www.accorhotels.com, you will be recognized each time you make a reservation and you will have access to the best rates and earn Le Club Accorhotels points."

Well that sucked getting told this after all those bookings and nights away. Missed out.

Same also with Carlson, as I was told at Raddison Blue that I would not get pts either.

This is pretty standard from what I can see.

It all comes down to reading the fine print before and not afterwards. -- Who ever does that :?:

Ahh this may explain the fact I have not receieved any points for my last 5 stays. Just recently we were forced into travel manager booking the accomodation. Strange becasue I can get better rpices than the travel manager can :/
