A quick question if I may, I am planning on booking Cathay from Singapore to Hong Kong and the special I am looking at says --Asia Miles accrual not allowed.

My question is-

Will I still accrue frequent flyer points and status credits though?

Thanking you in anticipation.

I would say no. For Asia Miles to accrue the booking must be in one of Y,B,H,K,M,L,V. These are the same classes as specified in the Qantas AirlineEarning table. As you must be in a different booking class, it does not earn in either program.

I don't think you will get any QFF points or SCs.

I have seen these type of airfares advertised quite often in SE Asia. Now when I ask a travel agent for a quote I always mention that I want the airfare to be eligible for Asia Miles accrual and then I am almost certain that it will also be eligible for accrual with the QFF program.

An example of how the points did not post and i did a missing points claim just to see ifi may get away with it.... QF posted this in my activity statement.

Make a dummy booking on the CX site, it will show you the fare class after selecting flights from the promo.

Like others have said, I don't think it will be eligible - or at least that's my experience. Booking through Third Party websites also has issues at times as they don't always show the fare classes your ticket is due to be booked into.

Thanks for all your responses, have to pay an extra $70SGD to get he credits then, oh well glad I asked
