Hi All.
First time poster.

Platinum Velocity since 2015 from mix of domestic flights/ SIA international and the advantages of family pooling.
I also recently got status matched to KF Elite Gold after demonstrating how status earned, and booking a J flight.

I meet my 8 domestic flights with VA to maintain my platinum through work.
That will continue.
I've got 520 Status credits towards the 800 coming in the next month....

I have a house in Japan, which I travel to twice a year, and generally take another trip to Europe each year.
I will be paying for J, and occasionally a reward flight.
I don't think i will get to 50,000 elite miles this year to maintain KFEG, and am not sure it is worth it.....

So now I am in a quandary.
My thoughts:

Both KFEG and VFF Plat provide lounge access domestically.
KFEG provides access to more international lounges though.

But if I fly J internationally, the status of KFEG doesn't really mean much, as I will have lounge access everywhere!

I don't think either program adds significant benefit when traveling as a family of 4 to get all of them into a lounge if flying economy??

So is the only difference really about point value?
Noting i transfer my points from VFF to KF to redeem flights, and the 1.55 ratio.

Should I split where my points go? Maintain platinum, and then direct points to KF? Or maintain platinum and gift Gold to my wife?
Or should i set my sights on maintaining KFEG?
Or both?

Something else?

Would welcome some pointers on anything I am missing.
Thanks in advance.
