I need to book some SQ flights but rather than just booking Business or first using full points redemption, I want to book upgradable fare even though I have plenty of points. Main reason is to ensure I earn enough credits to retain Velocity status this year. I know upgrade availability is limited on my routes but happy to sit in my booked class if unavailable.

My question is, if I book and nominate Velocity as my FF program for the points/SCs to credit to, can I still use KrisFlyer points to upgrade?

I had to change the booking to use my KF number to process the upgrade (before that the upgrade with points option was greyed out) and then change it back to the velocity number afterwards.

Flight is next week but Singapore Airlines call centre said it could be done

Did them miles credit successfully to VA? Ive upgraded a leg of a trip to PEK with KF miles and now can't change the FF number to Asiana via the website. Will call them before the flight to confirm.
