Has anyone noticed the poor service in Brisbane for guests using the valet parking facility since Christmas? Twice this month my car has not been available even though I had not changed my flight since dropping the car off and the freuqent flyer points are not coming through as quickly as before, I have now had 5 long waits for the car this year which makes the long term car park look attractive.

Being a regular customer I got to know the staff there well, apparently a lot have left because they got sick of having their shifts cancelled on 1 hours notice (they are casuals) so perhaps the loss of experience is taking its toll. I have made a complaint to Qantas but I am curious if anyone else has had the same experience across the country or am I just unlucky?

I've not had a problem, in fact came back from AKL recently to find the car washed and vacuumed inside for free (they commented on the amount of dog hair in the car!).

I was in J but am only a QF rust.

Cheers

hey... wheres the optimism .. perhaps they were warming your car up for you! :)

Can't say that I have used it in the past 2 years as I now live 8.5 kms from the airport, so Mrs LW is my Valet Parking attendant... much better service..although a couple of times this year I have waited longer than I wanted

I returned to Qantas Valet Parking last week after several years of not travelling. What a waste of time! I paid $55 to get my car washed and it look liked they dipped it into a bucked of dirty water. When i asked for a refund they told me that was not possible. The guy there said he would get the manager to call me but havent heard a thing since...... disgraceful way to treat business class passengers!

I have not used it since that post - its run by a different operation now - not Hertz. Although the parking has become a real lottery at BNE and I may need to reconsider.

No problems, though I’ve never used them… and wow is this thread old. Lock anyone? Surely practices will have changed in 5 years.

I didnt realise the thread was quite old - it would also appear to be just as relevant.

I have never been impressed with much in BNE, least of which is their 'airport'. One of the problems of outsourcing is you lose contol over the business. Is this a Joyce move manifesting itself now at headquaters and playing the maingame?

I had used SYD valet for many years, no problems whatsoever. We even left one of our cars there to be picked up on one of our moves by a transporter.

It would appear to a relevant thread today as it was in 05!!

Cheers

I used to use Qantas Valet at SYD T3 almost weekly. I stopped, and chose to self park because I kept noticing top end luxury cars driving over cement median strips and making illegal turns to beat the airport traffic in the AM and PM on the way to the long term carpark. I started to take notice of the drivers and when one of them ended up being the same person who delivered my Mercedes to Qantas Valet when I arrived early so I chose to no longer entrust my vehicle to them.

I'll gladly park at SYD T2 as the car is generally kept in the same are where it's dropped off, moving no more than 20m.

Ironically my car is much cleaner now that I selfpark because it's parked undercover saving me money having to get my car washed everytime I parked it with Qantas valet due to the plane fuel residue.

Have you ever tried the off airport parking options?

I use Andrews Airport Parking and have done so for 3 or 4 yrs now, find their service always good, and prefer my car locked up with them than taking my chance leaving it in long term parking where anyone could get access to it.

You are not wrong about the lottery at BNE long term, have always been able to get a park to date, but some days you do wonder if there are actually any left? I was thinking of trying out the QF valet in the next couple of weeks, so will let you know how it goes.

I use Brisbane Qantas Valet regularly and never have an issue. It does get busy at times but the convenience and staff are really good plus you get the frequent flyer points!! ;) bonus

I park my car at Brisbane QF Valet Parking 3 to 4 times a month. I always find the staff extremely courteous and helpful. The Brisbane Airport precinct has been a nightmare during roadworks over the last 18 months or so, however this has improved markedly recently.
My only gripe would be that the Brisbane Flight check-in next to Valet is not always open.
Our Sydney Senior Managers and Sales Team use the QF Valet Parking whenever they travel and are delighted with the service received and the ease of check-in for both Valet Parking and Flights at the Sydney Valet counters.

I should point out that this thread was started 5 years ago and my comments were on a different operator and different staff, the only thing still current is the name ;).
