Are there any AFFers who would like to catch up for an evening or lunch in Perth over the June long weekend. If the Google is correct the WA community does not have the "Queens Birthday" in June but there is a WA holiday on the same day as many of Eastern States. Also there seems to be a lot of of cheap flights to the DPRWA and it would appear that WA is now allowing us Eastern States types back in. :) :)

Right, Sunday it is then :p

I'm a keen but a maybe at this stage. Have a few balls in the air and need to see where they land.

I only just saw this.

Friday or Saturday may be possible, but Sunday-Tuesday I am likely to be down S.

Paging @cove, @Daver6, @oz_mark, @Port Power.
We arrive Thursday night 3 Jun and fly out late Monday 7 June, in my original post I buggered up the long weekends. I have now realised that the WA long weekend in June is WA Day and a week before the Eastern States QB weekend. We just decided to forget about the mistake and still 'Go West' so we will be there.

Friday evening (4 June) will likely suit us best, but Saturday night also a possibility.

Where will you be staying and what are your desires/preferences?

Friday or Saturday is ok we are staying at the Hilton Parmelia, MrsM and MissM informed me I am to pick one and stay there. No special requests other than a reasonable walking distance or a short cab ride from the hotel. There will be three of us, MissM is 14.

I’m good for lunch or dinner Saturday onwards. I fly back from Kununurra Friday night, June 4th, arriving 7:25pm. I could, of course, drive straight to the city and join you for a welcome drink. The Parmelia has just had a massive overhaul and upgrade, so it should be wonderful. Thanks for the page, John.

Have they lifted their game there? I haven't been in a very long time.

I haven't been for a long time, either. Did they go bad? It's very long-established, so they must do something OK.

It's hard to know about pretty much anywhere at the moment with the Covid-induced ructions and labour shortages.

Just thinking it's a place with a good view for visitors.

I will leave it to the PER contingent to find a place. Our preference is somewhere close (reasonably) to the Hilton say 20 minutes walk. If partners are coming along MrsM will most like come along however this also means MissM (14) will also be in tow.

As I said...not been in ages. I felt they might have been trading off the view but I'm happy to go. Not sure how spectacular the view is at night though ;) Plus, surely out interstate guests would just like to admire us? 🤢

As the old saying goes: "Never eat at a restaurant that overlooks water." ;)

But it is a great location to take visitors... :)

As Matt is requesting walking distance up to 20 minutes, perhaps C restaurant? They also do a very good degustation menu with matching wines as well as a la cart. Excellent view, too. I was there a few months ago, but the menu adjusts seasonally.
Wherever the venue, I’m definitely in (solo).

Is that the old Highlight 33?

Hello. I see you have been a member for several years but this is your first post. However you didn’t actually write a post below the quotes. Can we help you?
