I particularly like after an Australian showcase, the advert ends with a shot of Mt Tarawera in NZ. Does this mean America considers Australia as the West Island?

Once had a guy from the AA ATW desk on the telephone try to deny me a second inbound stopover in MEL on an ex AKL LONE4 booking - He was adamant I was only allowed one in each direction in the country of origin. I explained to him he correct in the rule but that AKL was not in the same country as MEL. He then said they were indeed in the same country. I then explained the Australia and New Zealand were different countries. ...

He then tried to tell me the rule was 'Continent of Origin' - I put him straight and was able to book the routing I was after.
