Thought I'd share the different experiences I've had getting a few recent flights posted to both VA and QF.
QF:
I start with the caveat that I actively have been avoiding QF making good on a stubborn pledge to do just that, and I now have VA Platinum earned without a status match to show for it. However, a recent return trip to Wellington required me to fly back with QF given flight times.
Points and SCs never posted. Nothing wrong whatsoever with the ticket, which showed status as did my BP. It took 9 weeks and three follow-ups to get that stupid one-way flight posted.
The flight itself was good-- excellent, even (three mini-bottles of Shiraz in Y will do that). Confirmed once again that in the air, QF can be excellent, but otherwise, still not worth the trouble.
VA:
Actually my partner's problem, but having colonised his account via pooling and exporting his SCs and points back to mine, I had a vested interest.
He recently started a new job and had his first two work trips. Though it's since been confirmed he did enter his full name correctly in his company's travel portal, the tickets were issued in his middle name as his first name. He didn't catch this right away, as he happens to go by his middle name anyway. I caught it a few days later when I decided to add his VA number to the ticket for his status (and ultimately my pooling) benefits.
Called VA who, without hesitation, manually forced his Velocity number onto the reservation, which instantly showed him as "Gold." I was surprised how easy that was and without more than a few sentences of explanation.
Then, flights never posted. Called today and again, after only a few sentences of explanation, the agent asked me to send a copy of his driver license or passport by e-mail and then "tell me the reference number of the automatic reply message you receive." I asked if she meant that she wanted me to send the e-mail right at that moment while she waited. "Yes." I did so, and within literally 3 minutes of reading out the reference number, she confirmed it was "all done," and lo and behold, all four flights had posted in both his account and immediately ultimately pooled to mine.

Safe to say I'll be sticking with VA and its partners for the foreseeable future.
