G'day again, for those of you visiting UK and looking for reasonable hotels - 3 star anyway, check out www.premierinn.com We stayed in a couple last year in England and have booked up a couple for next year in Wales and Essex, during my travels. I got some for £29 per night which is good for UK, all their hotels also have a restaurant attached or alongside, i.e. Beefeater etc. The hotels are basic but clean and comfortable, hundreds of them all over the UK, their prices vary.;)

They have one at LHR on Bath Rd, OK as well, but not £29. Around £50.

I recently read they've just opened a hotel at Abu Dhabi airport. So they seem to be establishing presence in the Gulf region.

We stayed at one in Cardiff and one at Manchester, as described, comfortable, clean and cheap!

I stayed at Ibis near Euston Road in London. Went into Premier Inn near there to see. Their reception, bar, restaurant was all together with very little space. I suppose that's the way when space is at a premium

We stayed in a Premier Inn at Stratford-Upon-Avon a couple of months ago - £39.
Fine for its purpose and close to all the tourist sights.
30 mins of free internet included.

Thanks for your interest and comment, yes the Whitbread Chain in UK, owners of Premier Inns are on a winner, all their hotels get decent reviews on Tripadvisor etc.

Thanks for the information. We will be travelling in the UK next year.
Are they also in Scotland?

Thanks for the link NSWP. Does sound good value. We will be there in April/May visiting our son working in Glasgow for the Commonwealth Games.
I wonder if we do some driving around and free wheel it that there would be last minute availability?
