Premium Economy to BKK Axed?

Hey Guys,

Went to book Premium Economy to BKK from Sydney, and it just keeps giving an error. Do they only fly the 2 class 747 there now ? Or is that route enhanced to the Airbus and no more Y+ or F?

If thats the case guess it means flying DeathStar for the Premium Economy service ?

I got an email about my flight change back in February. I flew PE a few times in the past and each time only about 12-15 PE seat taken. (out of 32?)

The busiest flight I've been in has about 20 or so. I really like QF PE to Bangkok.

I cant afford to fly business since I go to bangkok 2-3 times a year plus a few other oversea trips so I have to go back to Y. Good thing about a330 is its 2-4-2. I like the 2 seaters compared to 3-4-3 in 747.

One thing I noticed too is Qantas put the price down. In the past it used to be over $1k all the time but less now.

I booked 2 flights back to BKK at $620 each via expedia.ie lol Even if the sales ended now, you can still get it around $720 or so (not high season) and about $800 for an upgradable fare. (cheapest booking on QF site is over $900)
uk and ireland sites seem to be $200 cheaper than booking direct with qantas.

It will probably go to Deathstar soon.

If not they will keep upping the price and make it a route that is under utilised and that will be the reason why they are changing it.

IMHO QF keep rationalising routes they will only be left with flight between capital cities and a few key international cities. Namely SIN, LHR, LAX and maybe NYC
