Platinum FF's can use priority boarding lanes, does this apply to their travelling companions who may not have that status (or indeed no status?). If so is there a limit to the number? Assuming that the PB was working, what would be acceptable?

Yes they can.. No idea on number of guests though.. I've only ever had one..

I've had one guest accompany me through the priority boarding lane on a few occasions.

I took one through, when I had two I felt guilty and stood with them in the other line. Very rarely policed though so perhaps you could take ten

(I don't have the travelling volumes of many here but) Going by what I've seen and heard about priority boarding I would be surprised if the FAs reject any ineligible companions or even try to determine if they're travelling with an eligible passenger.

Indeed. Your travelling companion(s) need not worry. It would appear the only requirement to use QF priority boarding is, well, a boarding pass.

Priority Boarding lanes only for Platinum+?! Is this a joke? Honestly, I thought that sort of thing was only a 'recommendation' by the FAs. As a Gold who gets priority with VA as a matter of course, naturally I feel entitled to use those lanes and thus I do, no matter who is with me. It's also clear to me that PS and in fact the no-status general public do as well. Priority for Platinums - hah! Just the like the people with three 10 kg carry on bags, no one polices it and no one cares.
