In a few weeks I will be flying Virgin Blue for the first time. Marge and I both have Priority Pass cards which I understand will get us into The Lounge at SYD. Maggie, who is travelling with us, does not have a card. The Lounge rules state that a member may bring in a guest for free. Previously when using my Priority Pass card overseas, before Marge had one of her own, I was able to guest her into a Priority Pass branded lounge. I am trying to work out whether at The Lounge they will make us pay for Maggie or whether they will treat the Priority Pass card like one of their own membership cards and allow us to guest her in.

Does anyone have any experience of using Priority Pass at The Lounge and trying to guest someone in?

HI Homer,

When u were overseas, before Marge had her own card, did you have to pay to guest her in or was it free?

It was free to bring a guest into the OS lounge, but it was a Priority Pass branded lounge. I am wondering whether The Lounge gatekeepers here will apply the same policy...

From the Priority Pass website. Conditions for SYD Lounge.
Conditions: Domestic flights only - Limited to one guest per cardholder - Complimentary alcoholic drinks are limited to beer, wine and champagne - Children under 2 years are admitted free - Smart casual dress at all times (no shorts allowed) - Non-smoking.
I believe that unless Maggie is under 2 years old, you will be charged.

When I took a guest into the CBR Lounge on my Priority Pass I was charged US$27 iirc.

Doh! Maggie is three. The confusing part is their use of the term "guest". In the conditions you have quoted it seems as though "guest" means the person attempting to access the lounge with the card, as opposed to a guest of that persion (ie a second person). USD$27 is almost the same as the DJ casual entry fee of AUD$35 (if purchased on entry) so maybe I should pre-pay AUD$30 online for a lounge entry pass for Maggie. Or maybe I will stick her in the carrier and pop a dummy in her mouth... ;)

This is very interesting...

I never knew that entry for guests are free for Priority Pass. I always thought guests had to pay US$27. If you look at the membership website :

Can anybody else confirm that i can guest people in for free?

I always thought Priority Pass used other people's lounges, i didn't know they actually operated their own branded lounge!

I'm travelling with Mrs.BenHadi to Europe and it would come in handy if that was the case. Thanks.

I reckon that since Maggie is only three, you'd have a better than average chance of getting her in for free. IME the the staff in the DJ lounge have a much more casual attitude than your average QP dragon.
