Trying to use ANA Tool this weekend. When I tried on Saturday morning I thought it might have been just a temporal error and thought I'd have more luck later.

For all of the dates and locations I"m trying, BNE, SIN, ZRH I get the following:
*A reservation for the destination you requested is not available when using internet.(A_APT_13A_004A)

Can anyone say that the tool is working for them?

Seems to be working for me.

Test: 29 Apr / 17 May BNE-SIN vv

Showing 2 flights BNE-SIN and 3 flights SIN-BNE.

When I've tried the ANA Tool twice this week. When I log in both times the buttons "Use Star Alliance Member Airlines" and "Use the Single Airline" have been greyed out.

Anyone else seeing this?

Of course, my concern is that they may have secured the tool for use only when you have points in the scheme, I curently have 0 points but use the functionality of the site only.

Looks like they've changed the procedure around. When I log in and try to check I get"
* Members must complete the application by themselves.
Before applying, please read the Guide to Using Awards.

(with a link).

I dug around for a while, but the best I found was a registration for family members to use my points.

I think it's just a tightening of things based on identification, not stopping people searching. Flyertalk will have more information I'm sure.

There was another post in the same thread that suggested you could do a search for ANA award flights, and after that you get access to *A awards. Haven't tried it myself yet.

On a slight tangent. I've seen that you need to put miles into the ANA account to be able to search *A fares.

Does anyone know if its possible to post Avis rentals to ANA? I tried this morning, but the closest I could get was JAL.

Thanks

Have tried this today and yes it works.

1. Do a search on using points for an ANA International Award on a route they operate. I used NRT-SIN.
2. When the results appear there is a Use Star Alliance Airline inn the lower right corner. The link takes you to the familiar search page.

Possibly it is possible to link directly to the search page after authenticating.

Thanks for help. Unfortunately I couldn't find an upgrade opportunity to give some friends a nice upgrade surprise on their DUD-BNE flight.

If you have a Starwood Preferred Guest account, you can post a solitary Starpoint to ANA and continue to use the availability tool for *A
airlines. [edit: sorry only just realised that this only works for SPG Plat members, as there's a min transfer requirement for basic and Gold SPG members; i guess for now albatross710's option is the best one]

Otherwise just sign up to AC's Aeroplan program, which also has a similar availability tool albeit not nearly as good.

Or do some retroactive mileage claim for short haul flights to ANA!
