Has this happened to anyone else?

A mate of mine recently qualified for PS, received his kit in the mail yesterday and there was SG Bag Tags

Will the tags be ok to use?

Just to be clear, the colour of the tags does not affect their functionality in any way. Your luggage will not automatically be priority tagged, for example.

I have been neglecting my SG bag tags and using paper tags due to there being no priority sticker. If one is SG, do the bags become electronically tagged as priority? Or would the handlers look at the colour, if at all?

Either way, my bags come out more quickly with paper tags and the orange priority sticker.

Bags are only really looked at on 737 flights, as they aren’t put into bins (or whatever the term is) in the hold. On other flights, and indeed on the 737, before the bags get to the baggage handlers the machines automatically sort the bags to where they need to be, including to a priority collection if need be, based on what status you were when you checked-in.

So you can attach a CL tag and be a Bronze member and your bag should still come out towards the back, likewise you can attach a QP tag and be a CL and your bag should come out first.
