So I've had 2 weeks consecutively here now totalling 8 nights, previously I'd never stayed when it was a Hilton but the rates are very low now so gave it a go. Here's my experiences so far:

Week 1 - level 2 room with pool balcony, flyscreen came off rails and was ignored by staff throughout the stay (both cleaning and pool) - mentioned it to staff at the end of the stay. Housekeeping is spotty, they didn't give me fresh towels 2 days in a row seeming to think that a towel on either the indoor or verandah chair meant I wanted to keep it! Wifi absolutely abominable, unconnectable - only give 2 wifi codes upfront for 24 hours each on a 4 day stay. No welcome drinks offered, status not recognised and had to ask for free Wifi. Points did not credit after asking reservations and front desk to add Le Club number of 3 seperate occasions.

Not a great start...

Week 2 - level 16 room with MCG view, now Gold so upgrade was appreciated and represented about $200 in value between room prices. Again had to ask for welcome drinks and wifi but got early check in which was appreciated. Housekeeping again poor, blonde hairs all over the floor that had to revacuumed plus hairs in the robes - yuck! Seems very rushed when they do the rooms with things out of place or half done. Turn down service spotty also, received it 1 night out of 4 with mentos mints left. Hotel seems to be heavily used by EK and EY who clog up the lobby with their luggage rather than using the dedicated aircrew lounge. Reservations & check in prep seems disorganised also, on check out this morning an Asian tour group of 150 rocked up at 8am so the lobby was bedlam!

Overall the experience has inspired me to do the Platinum challenge with SPG!
