Does anyone know the logic QF use for deciding which flights they offer Pyjama's in business class.

I struggle!

Earlier this year I flew the afternoon/evening flight, QF5 .. SYD to SIN and we were all offered PJ's (understandable I guess for those continuing on to FRA/LHR). On the return flight QF10 SIN - MEL (dep 8pm arr 6am or thereabouts) no PJ's offered and when requested was instructed they don't offer on this service. Happened also to my partner a couple of months alter. Whatever. Fair enough.

Then a few weeks ago I flew SIN-BOM on QF51 (dep 11pm arr 2am) and got a magical op-up from Y to J. I was really surprised that PJ's were handed out on that flight. I just don't get it, no PJ's on overnight 7hr flight, yet PJs on a (very) late evening 5 hr flight.

The only thing I can think of that QF10 leaves to early, and most pax would already have PJ's from the LHR sector.

There doesn't seem to be a lot of consistancy with it. I've had them offered to the cabin on a SIN-MEL, and then on the very same flight a few weeks later told they're not available. Same on QF128 HKG-SYD (which I'll be on again in a few weeks so it'll be interesting to see if they're handed out).

Would be nice to know which services do/don't have them so one knows to pack a "cabin shirt".

Good point Dajop, I have seen those inconsistancies before. When they dont hand themmout it may also mean they dont have them!!!

In any case you are most entitled to ask for them!!!

Happy landings

I find it weird you dont get them on QF10 (o/night to MEL) but DO get them on QF52 (o/night to BNE).

Any ideas on why this might be?

I had a flight MEL-SIN last month where they didn't even give us an amenity pack at all. Then SIN-BOM we got an amenity pack.
however on way back SIN-MEL, they gave us amenity pack. seems there is little consistancy!

Looking at the list QF10 does seem to be the standout, that's why I was trying to understand the logic. Out of SIN you get PJ's on QF52 (BNE), QF6 (SYD) - a continue on service just like QF10 is, the shorter QF82(ADL) and the even shorter (non overnight) QF78 (PER). What sort of bizarre logic means that QF10 (MEL) is not on the list?

QF6 may be a bit inconsistent then. Two trips this year in J, and no PJs offered.

I don't really know how (in)consistent it is, as I try to avoid flying QF6 (too little time to get a decent sleep)
