Hi everyone, I have a quick question last year I received the Virgin matched status at Hilton. I used this status during my current world trip (very good timing) with reports already in this thread. Based on the number of stays this year I qualified for Silver but in logging into my account it says 'congratulations on your gold membership enjoy the benefits'.

Does this mean I have been rolled over as a Gold Member? The requalification bar has disappeared as well.

I was logging in to use my points (for the first time) for a hotel at DFW for my last night of my 139 day trip in February. If I still have the gold benefits I might select a different hotel in the group.

Thanks in advance.

Your status won't change from that of the year before until after March.

[CAVEAT]
Your status on 31st Dec will remain the same until 31st March and only drop after then unless you either:
  1. qualify a higher status during that three month period or
  2. had re-qualified at the same level during the prior year (or that three months period).

Thanks serfty the status match just gets better and better :)

So on 01 April I have to say goodbye to Hilton Diamond. Sadly no further stays planned until then but I did enjoy the status while it lasted and totally unexpected.

I suspect I get one more chance for complimentary Hilton Gold as I will requalify Virgin Gold soon. Is the best time to apply just after 01 April as that will mean I get to keep Hilton Gold until 31 March 2015?

AFAIK gold benefit will show up when you qualify from PS (or downgrade from WP). Maybe not if you requalify however. When it is offered, pull the trigger as appropriate.

Apparently I have been offered another opportunity already!

As a Gold member, you have access to membership into one of the programs listed below.

Please select membership into your preferred program:
As I still have Diamond status until end March do I wait until then? I am guessing there is no way Hilton is going to give me a soft landing? I went from PC Platinum to Blue member in the new year.

If you are diamond status, there seems little point in taking any offer until you are downgraded.

Wait until Hilton confirm your new low status after 1 April, then pull the trigger on the match.
