Hi Frequent Flyers .
I will be taking up the sale offer of discounted PE seats on the A 380 Sydney to HKG next year

I would be grateful if the FF experienced flyers can advise me as to the best PE seats in the A 380 for 2 people travelling together.

I imagine the rows A.B and J.K are preferable, but is the any difference between rows 34, 35, 36 ?

Many thanks

The A380 flies SYD-HKG now? I thought it was all 747s and A330s.

A380 flying 4 days a week from 15 Jan with Sale fares for PE from $1900 roughly. J for a splash out is $4500 at the moment but I have bought on the trip $1900 PE Seats with an upgrade of 25000 points per sector upgrades on the A380 might be a bit easier although on the last 3 sectors to or from HK rq for upgrades have come throujh with upstairs seating on the 747 although on this trip was very very lucky to get 11K

Re Seats Always get AB or JK as the centre seat in PE is a 3 and not good long haul. 34 J&K A&B would be my choice although crew coming through to PE out of J can be annoying as they flick the cabin curtain at your legs in B & J I usually take A or K by myself as you can step over the person on the aisle in 34 which defintely has more leg room

Summary 34 AB/JK when you can and P FF can pick straight away (sorry did not see your Avatar) Splash out on one or more sectors for a 25K upgrade.

Cheers Enjoy Keith

Qantas made an announcement today that they will be flying A 380 aircraft 4 x week to HKG from SYD starting Jan 15th 2012

My Preference in order

38K
38J
34 A,B,J,K

38 is emergency exit - loads of space in front of you. :) The only issue is it can get a little cooler near the exit, but that just makes it even better for me.

Many thanks to everyone and your recommendations.

I have requested 34 A.B and will put in a request for upgrades to J class at the earliest opportunity

Cheers

IMO 35 & 36 AB JK are some of the best seats for couples and tall travellers. They have 4" more leg room.
Bulkhead seats 34 I find you cant stretch right out. I'd rather have the room to stretch under the seat in front. If you get upgraded avoid the bulkhead row 16 behind galley and bathrooms especially for night flights, way too much activity with people in yr spaces waiting for toilet and annoying light streaming in every time the curtains move.

Aside from 38J/K, the AB seats have ~3" more room than the J/K seats.
