After spending 3 months in the USA I am sick of seeing cheap fares on the QF US site. The last special was LAX - Oz east coast for US$999 return inc tax.
Has anyone seen the Aussie Air Pass special for US$1199++? Return LAX to any major eastern city in Oz PLUS 3 domestic flights - pretty sweet deal! You choose 3 domestic cities within each zone for the applicable fare. You could fly LAX-SYD-MEL-ADE-BNE-LAX for US$1199 + tax!
