Hi
I am having so many hassles with the Qantas Awards booking website.

After spending considerable time entering airport details and dates, if one flight is not available I have to re-enter all the details again! It is driving me crazy!!

Is there something that I am not doing correctly? Can I somehow save my info and just adjust the problem flight info?

I thought that clicking on 'past searches' would fill up the flight info, which would be very handy, but it doesn't!

I am ready to jump through the computer screen and throttle someone!

Has anyone out there have any suggestions?

Thanks for reading my frustrations.

(I feel better.)

Hi Kangarucci and welcome to AFF.

I feel your pain on the awards booking thing. When I was last checking for a round the world trip (RTW), I resorted to checking the individual segments (say, Brisbane to JFK, or JFK to Oslo) as standalone one-way trips and then when I'd found my ideal flights, I grouped them as one RTW.

Low-tech, but slightly less frustrating.

Kangarucci,

Like the others the only successful way I have found of making this work is to break it into individual segments and later on put it all back together again. A bit tedious and frustrating but it works.

I used to have trouble on my old laptop, but the new Acer Aspire has Google Chrome installed, and I recently booked a classic award flight in J, BNE/LAX/BNE for Aug'10/Sep'10 without any problems...............

Cheers Dee

The site is a load of c*ap, most people would have to agree.

I recently started a thread expressing my frustration — I also experienced similar things to the OP.

I last booked QF award flights two years ago so things may have changed. I always booked individual segments - it makes no difference to the points you use and when you check in you can still book yourself and your bags all the way through. I don't fly QF any more - cough seats in business class, the difficulty in getting award seats and indifferent service convinced me to change to Virgin Blue, V-Australia and Virgin Atlantic.

Award Website is not working at the moment? I've tried to search seats between SYD and HKG, and between SYD and PVG. The results shows seats available on almost everyday, both Y and C. But when you book it, no seats available. I've tried three computers over two different network, same result. Anyone else experiencing similar thing?

The site kept failing earlier today — but in a different way. There was an error URL, but then that page itself wouldn't load.

What a ridiculous site.
