Qantas Business Class sale - matching Virgin Mates Rates

Just searching a few dates post March 17 for business class flights and it seems that Qantas is currently matching the Virgin Mates Rates promotion currently on. For example Sydney - Melbourne $550, Sydney - Cairns $700. Only applies to direct flights and seems to be for the same dates as Virgin is advertising its sale for.

For a Status Run I need indirect flights so sadly this won't help me. Anyway I've already booked my run.

Yes they're not listing these as specials.. this has happened in the past.

from my digging the fare basis is BUSSALE, travel dates are 01MAR17-14SEP17 (probably with some restrictions). fare valid till 12FEB17 (so not long!)

and covers a bunch of routes, but not all (eg: SYD-CNS yes, MEL-CNS seems not)

Sale finishes today. Using OLTA you can get the price down under $400 for MEL-ADL, even MEL-CBR which is a rarity. Looks like it's fully refundable too!

Thanks for sharing, checked the prices and called up to change today's flight Y to J. Must have got a new call centre agent, I needed remind them that P1's don't get charged services fees.
