Qantas cash foreign currency to purchase aa miles

Can you load usd on to your qcash card and then use that to purchase aa points in usd or will the transaction try to do it in aud instead making the whole exercise useless?

You probably could, but what's the point?
If the aim is to get bonus QF points then you are better off with a 0% FX CC like 28 degrees or BW Plat, or a high points earning card like Citi Sig or Prestige, or any Amex that earns 2ppd for foreign spend.
