Don't know if this has been mentioned anywhere else, if so, please delete.

I know that the non-ability to change your pin to your own number has been a bug-bear to many people but when I logged onto my Qcash account the following came up...

PIN change - You can now update your PIN to one of your choosing at selected rediATMs in Australia. Use our handy ATM locator to find your nearest participating rediATM.

Very handy to know, thanks!

i just find the rates provided via any of the cash cards to be very uncompetititve.

amex fx4you offers decent rates. if you're buying non USD a code UOW will provide you with pretty competitive rates.

Too little too late by QF.

What do you mean?

Lacking the ability to get a decent earning Mastercard or Visa at the moment (financial reasons), I've been resorting to Qantas Cash where Amex isn't accepted. Of course, only for transactions in AUD.

Qantas Cash recently had a promotion on their forex rates. Instead of the uncompetitive rates they normally have, the margins were between 1-3% from mid-market. Not the most fantastic, but on average very competitive against the nominal cash offering at bricks and mortar places.

Actually, last week, Qcash had a better US rate than travelX cash passport (prepaid cards only)

My default place for getting foreign currency (ie actual folding cash as opposed to 'card money') is UAExchange. (They don't have a lot of branches, so may not be practical for those outside the main CBD areas)

As a test, I just got an online quote for AUD / EUR (as at 13:50ish 2May16), with the following results:

XE.com - 0.6632
UAExchange - 0.6555 - XE less 1.2%
FX4U (without Promo Code) - 0.6413 - XE less 3.3%
FX4U (with Promo Code) - 0.6456 - XE less 2.7
QCash - 0.6288 - XE less 5.2%!!! (yes I know this isn't cash, just included for extra information)

This is not to say that UAE will always be best. The various providers update their rates at different times and intervals, so it's always worthwhile checking multiple sources.

This argument is never-ending, and boring.

No, QC does not have the best exchange rates around. Yes, they are more expensive than some of the other options.

But QC has other advantages that plain cash or other cash cards do not have. Some people value these more than one or two percent on the exchange.

If you don't want to use QC fine, don't, but continually posting exchange rates as if you are hoping to sway others to your way of thinking just gets tedious.
