$550 for partner of Gold with 4.5years worth of QP membership. I still remember the QP special back in 2010 for 90th birthday of $290.

To celebrate Miranda Kerr as the face of The Qantas Club....

Noting the way AJ is pushing the airline, I would have thought that the original brand ambassador of JQ would have been more appropriate, although I must admit that the lady in question is much to classy these days to stoop to such levels.

So as life QC member and WP I'm doubly ineligible... not feeling the love, Red Roo :(

Queue the berating of people making "whataboutme" comments... I seem to recall when QF upped the earning for SG and PS any WP who complained was shouted down as a whinger...

Cheers. I guess the relevant membership period for me will be the time I currently have on hold (3-4 years). I've priced it up and the website is happy to sell my wife one year.

It's coming out slightly cheaper for me. I'm not going to mention what I paid for my on hold QP membership if you think $290 is cheap. ;) Slightly annoying to have to spend the money for the stake of 5 excess guest spots over a few lounge visits. :( Especially considering the 100+ guest spots I haven't used.

Medhead, all I can say is working for Her Majesty is an cough - and the deals just aren't as good as for corporate world - too much bureaucracy for the bureaucrats to get a good deal!

Umm  Maybe it helps that I got mine a long time ago. But it was a government deal, which no longer exists I believe.

Totally! The $200 pa deals are long gone, as are the really competitive 5 year deals. When I travelled for DoFD as a rep of another agency, they were stunned I put my QFF on the booking. That same group of people are now in charge of the Whole of Commonwealth Travel.

Is there a restriction on when you can renew?
I have more than 1 year remaining on a multi-year membership.
Do I have to wait until there is less than x months before renewing?

A slight tangent on the topic, but here's the behind the scenes for Miranda's shoot for the face of the Qantas Club:

Is it just me or she doesn't sound very convincing?

Why get Miranda Kerr as the face of a lounge? This doesn't make sense. And Qantas is having a promo which "celebrates" this new identity? Simply bizarre...
