Folks,

I'm a Qantas Club member and have been since 1993.
Last year was a particularly bad year for me, I had back problems and have just had surgery.
Being unable to carry out my usual business travel routine I have a Complimentary Invitation card that expires at the end of Feb 2012.

Seems a shame to waste it.
Any suggestions??

regards

paul

You can offer to donate it to an AFFer.

Maybe set some criteria such as minimum membership period and / or posts etc.

I would love it if it is free to a good home. I am currently QF silver and am doing a bit of travel so would make my travels much more enjoyable! Cheers, TIlL.

I've got quite a lengthy travel day planned for the 26th of Feb (per-sin-lhr-fra), I'd like to take it off your hands as well. I'm a lowly bronze, lounges are a rare thing for me (although I intend to be silver by the end of September!) :(. A shower in Singapore would do wonders for me and my fellow passengers:!:

If you are in terminal 3? I think the Singapore airlines one anyway I found a free shower just upstairs near the entrance to the cinema

Serfty, thanks for your suggestion. Due to some unexpected domestic crisis I haven't left a lot of time as the complimentary card expires end of this month. I will mail it to the member Must fly who also replied....hopefully next time I will handle this in a more timely fashion....

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you....unexpected domestic crisis!
Don't know if this is the right way or not but send me your postal details and I will pop it into the post today, BTW I am in Brisbane...
If you need to chat, call me 0400 xx_ xx_

Thank you Paul, I have sent my address by way of SMS :)

Thanks :D

PS in case someone is trying to be facetious to gain a pass, my number ends in 258 and my initials are RX ;)

No kidding? Me too!

I just got a slender pack in the mail. Alas, the platinum went to gold and now I'm silver again. New silver card enclosed, along with a QC card holding the unused portion of my 2006 membership. And - very thoughtful - a QC invitation, presumably for the remainder of the year.

Not that I'm planning much. A weekend in Vienna - on points - and that's pretty much it, barring family emergencies.

Maybe I'll be spruiking out my QC invite this time next year.

Skyring, this is possibly the first ever report I've read of someone actually 'resuming' a 'parked' QP paid membership (though I know that is what is allegedly done). Thanks for that, it just confirms in my mind that they do it (I also have a parked paid membership).

It will come in very handy. It's about thirty hours travel each way. I find the single best thing about lounge access is the ability to have a shower in between long haul flights. There's nothing sets you up for another half-day on a plane than a shower, shave, shampoo (and a real one). A cup of coffee and a glass of juice and a bit of internet helps.

An added bonus is that my wife and I got First invites, so we can relive some of the platinum glory days before the first big leg.
