Hi all

Heading to Florida for a week in late January. Can someone tell me what arrangements (if any) exist for QANTAS Club (Bronze, sob..) members in the OneWorld lounges in LA & Miami, I will have some pretty long lay-overs to fit in with meetings.

Thanks

If you are travelling on AA then you have access to the Admirals Clubs. (Make sure they give you drink vouchers on entry.)

More here:

Access to Partner airline lounges

In addition to Qantas Club lounges, you can relax in British Airways lounges ... and American Airlines® Admirals Club lounges.

To access a partner airline lounge, simply present your Qantas Club card ... at check-in and again with your boarding pass at the lounge reception. You may also invite a guest. Note: both you and your guest must be travelling together and have onward travel that day on a flight marketed and operated by the partner airline whose lounge you wish to visit.***

***
Marketed and operated means a flight operated by the same airline whose flight number appears on your ticket. Includes American Airlines® or British Airways operated flights with a 'QF' flight number on your ticket.

You can use the AA lounges in LAX and MIA when your departing flight is with AA.

You can use the BA lounge in MIA if departing on a BA flight.

You can use the AA/QF lounge in LAX (either T4 or TBIT) when departing on QF.

Exact locations in the terminals for the AA lounges are listed here:

Admirals Club Locations & Pass Information

I did notice when in the US recently that AA were only giving 1 drink voucher out on entry (checked quite a few clubs!) vs the 2 they previously gave. Never purchased any more drinks than that, so didn't go back and ask to see if they would give me more passes.

Which AA lounges give drinks vouchers to QClub members?

Do Golds/Plats get drinks vouchers too?

Any Admirals Club with a cash bar that you have access to.

And if you have entry rights via Qantas (QP,SG,WP,CL) then the vouchers apply.

The Admiral's Club Lounges at MIA and T4 LAX are quite OK - I was in both in September this year. Serfty is right, though - make sure you get drink vouchers on arrival because the AA lounges are not price rite like the QF lounges.

On my recent AA lounge visit in DFW Terminal C and at LAX T4 I got 2 drink vouchers each time.

Even though my QF flight was departing from TBIT I had arrived in at T4 and used the AA T4 lounge.

Can't recall which terminal at MIA but the AA lounge is/was land side. As security was a nightmare we didn't risk the delay and ventured air side and purchased our drinks.

I was only given 1 voucher on entry to the lounges in the USA in August 2007. I did go back and ask for an extra voucher and each time the receptionists were different so not an issue. Not sure what would have happened if I had encountered the same receptionist.

You would probably have to give them a $1 tip :!:

They would have simply supplied you with another ... based on my anecdotal experience ...
