Hi All

I have already posted a question about joining Qantas Club as I am thinking of taking up a corporate membership. Can anyone who is a member let me know what the facilities are like, especially do they have family toilets where we can change our baby that are kept clean.

To explain: one of our children has a very serious medical condition and when we travel we want to try and make the whole process a little less stressful. We thought we always fly Qantas anyway and that by joining the Qantas Club it would make checking-in a bit easier, give us some where more comfortable to sit and clean toilets (we need a more hygenic toilet for our child due to their condition, than the one I came across in some of the family toilets in Qantas Domestic terminals - which were very average).

I know this must all sound a little odd, but we have to travel each year a bit as we don't live in our home city, and I am trying to make the travel process a bit easier, as it can be quite stressful for us.

Is it worth joining up?

Thanks

I've generally found them to be quite clean. If you were travelling and wanted the ease, then yes take it up.

I am pretty sure there are baby change facilities, it's been years since I needed to use one! and even then there are the shower rooms too.

Cheers,

Nick

Not sure about family toilets, but I know the normal toilets are kept very clean. I sometimes find it a little stressful trying to keep my kids quiet, I SO wish that Qantas Club would have family/kids rooms/areas such as in the BA lounge at Heathrow, those rooms are a godsend when travelling with kids!

You can always use the shower facilities (that generally also have a toilet) as a "family" toilet if the usual facilities do not offer the privacy you seek. The toilet facilities in Qantas Clubs generally 10 times cleaner than the public facilities in the terminal.

I don't think I've ever seen a family toilet, but all the major capital airport lounges I've visited (excluding Hobart) have disabled toliets, baby change and shower facilities available which should suit your needs.

I was going to mention the showers having toilets, but I see NM has just posted that. Also concur that the Club facilities are generally far cleaner.

I think the change tables are normally inside a disabled toilet/shower room in the Qantas clubs. So it's kind of a combo parent room, diasbled access room, and baby change room. I certainly haven't seen change tables inside the ladies toilets in Bris, Syd, or Mel domestic or Bris International. But, it has been a while since I've been to Sydney or Melbourne, and it could have changed.
I've found it to be a good, clean room for changing a baby. Certainly cleaner than in the terminals!

I don't think there are any specific baby change areas in the toilets at QP's, I've noticed the shower \ disabled toilets often have a large vanity area which would be more than suitable for changing a baby.

I have usually found the QP toilets to be very good in the cleanliness stakes (there have been a couple of notable exceptions) and always much cleaner than any toilets in the main public areas of the terminals.

I have always found the ladies toiletsin the Qantas Clubs to be spotless.

I would suggest dropping into the Qantas Club at your main airport/s the next time you're there and enquiring. I'm pretty confident that if you explained your needs and asked to have a look at the facilities they would be happy to show you.

I paid for QP membership prior to obtaining status on QF. I also have reasonably extensive experience travelling both domestic and long haul with kids in tow ( one of whom is disabled). I would not hesitate in recommending Qantas Club membership to you. I have a complimentary invitation valid until 2011 which you are welcome to have . Send me a PM and I will post it to you
