Hey All
Will be flying from Melbourne - Singapore next month with jetstar. I am a qantas frequent flyer bronze member but I am flying star class. Would it be possible to use the lounge in Singapore as I have a 3 hour stop over before i continue on to Ho Chi Minh with jetstar.

Qantas Club, no, as per QF website:

"No access as StarClass only operates on international flights."

However, presuming your flight on to Ho Chi Min with Jetstar is also Starclass then an International Business Lounge would be open to you:

"Must be travelling onwards on a Jetstar operated and marketed flight in the StarClass cabin. Lounge access is only permitted in the port where Jetstar StarClass operates from."

I don't understand the last sentence though. Must be travelling Starclass is pretty straightforward, but how could you possibly be travelling Starclass from a port where StarClass does not operate????? Perhaps someone else knows what that might mean.

There is a combined BA/QF business lounge in SIN so I can't see that you will have any problems unless your SIN to SGN Jetstar flight is a Y ticket - if its Starclass you should be fine.

Ohh i just read my post a bit confusing :p
Well Im flying MEL-SIN-SGN I booked starclass all the way through but on the SIN-SGN leg its an all economy aircraft but on my booking reference it says (fare type star class)
Does this allow me access to Qantas business lounge in Singapore?

I have found some articles which seem to indicate Starclass operates on SIN-SGN. However, looking at the booking engine, it clearly indicates that SIN-SGN is an economy fare.

So, if SIN-SGN segment is booked/sold as a Y/Y- fare - then you will not have access in SIN, arrivals, departure or otherwise.

However, if SIN-SGN segment is booked/sold as J - you will have access.

I'd say that technically you will be out of luck, per this:

"...Jetstar operated and marketed flight in the StarClass cabin"

Bold/italic/underline is mine.

If you are not actually in a Starclass seat (because the plane is all economy) then technically you probably won't get in. As Starclass probably doesn't operate from that port then the second sentence might also kick in

"Lounge access is only permitted in the port where Jetstar StarClass operates from"

So, even though you booked a starclass seat, because of availability at that port you will travel partly by economy, not starclass therefore won't get lounge access.

I'd still try it on at the lounge door anyway, your starclass stamped ticket might be enough to get you past the dragon who knows?

Even if you can't get into the lounge, Singapore airport is very passenger friendly (shops, pay-per-use-lounges, cafes/bars/restaurants, free massage chairs). It's relatively easy to find something to do for 2-3 hours, in relatively inexpensive comfort

Swimming pool. Love the swimming pool at Singapore airport, and you can use the showers there too.

Nothing like a swim mid-flight if you have a couple of hours - very relaxing and they do poolside food and drinks too.

Swimming pool? Where abouts is it? I might have to bring my Speedo's next time ;)

Well its on my itinerary as starclass MEL-SIN and SIN-SGN so ill give it a try!

I was in singapore 10 days ago with an 8 hour stop over and there was plenty to do but this time I might have to give this swimming pool a go :D

Hi - also after what is probably some pretty obvious info but tend to get a bit stuck on the QF and Jetstar websites, neither appear all that keen on ease of info.

If flying Jetstar Star class, is the lounge available in SIN even though it does not seem to be a straight QF lounge. Am a QF WP so not sure again if this makes a difference there either.
Appreciate any info / feedback on this topic?

Cheers

Looks like you'd be ok. Seems like you'd get in if you are forwarding via Starclass:

"Must be travelling onwards on a Jetstar operated and marketed flight in the StarClass cabin.
Lounge access is only permitted in the port where Jetstar StarClass operates from."

Also your WP status should allow you access even if there is something dodgy above (like SIN not being a Starclass port???).

"Next onward flight must be on a Qantas, Jetstar Airlines+ or oneworld flight number.#
One guest allowed and must be travelling with the member."

"+ Jetstar Airlines refers to Jetstar (JQ), Jetstar Aisa (3K) and Valuair (VF)."

The SIN lounge is a shared QF/BA lounge so I'm expect the above QF access clauses to apply. If it were a BA only lounge you'd be in trouble though I suspect unless your booking had a QF ticket.

Yes, it is fine - you will have access.

Guys not about this one. I'm flying Y with Alaska airlines on Monday from SFO and I'm not sure if I get lounge access.

I'm SG with a paid QC on hold. Alaska is listed as a partner airline and it seems to state I get access in one of the rules but i'm not sure. Can anyone confirm?

If SG or WP you have lounge access in SIN - I travel there regularly on J*, and you are allowed access. (Previously only WP had access, but they have since changed the rules.) They don't care what class you are flying - the more the merrier!!

As to the flight SIN-SGN, that flight is full economy no *Class cabin as per MEL-DPS. I've flown it a few times and have booked the "Hotseats" - 1B/C, but it's definitely not Starclass. You pay for everything just like the rest of the passengers. As SG or WP you'd have lounge access - any lower and you'll be out of luck. :(

Whare are you flying from?

It's port dependant but ISTR you may get "Boardroom" access if on the QF codeshare flight number; not on the AS number.

QP members also have access. Note that Jetstar means JQ, 3K, and VF flights for the purpose of lounge access, so you could be on a $25 SIN-KUL 3K fare, and still get into the lounge (and drink up more than $25 worth of liquor). :D

SFO is first port. I'm on AS number for these flights.

Later when flying from Anchorage to LA I'm on an AA number. Sounds like I should have ensured a QF number.

Thanks serfty
