Hi all, a bit new to all this. I want to join the Qantas Club and my company won't allow us to do so - apparently only available to a few privileged people - no one below a State Manager!

I understand we have a corporate membership through Gold Membership. What do I need to do?

Have you been clear when asking that you will pay for the membership. I have found when asking around at various places about this, that people think I'm asking for a free membership. Comments like, "they wouldn't give you that", that sort of thing. So I have had to really stress that I would pay for it and I just need the scheme number. Picture forefinger poking into forehead on every syllable - "I will pay for the membership"

Nope, tried that too and even spoke really slowly. I thought a state sales manager who spends three weeks a month traveling would be eligible! Go figure ......

At least you be able to claim the proportion of QP use you have in relation to business travel as a tax-deduction. (If you get a two year membership, this may need to be pro-rated.)
