Hi, I am hoping this group can help me. I am trying to bid on Qantas Club comp passes on ebay. There are a couple of listings but the passes pictured just don't look right to me. From what I understand the Qantas club comp pass as a holographic seal in the bottom right hand corner of the pass. Can anyone in this group confirm that. Also a description of the pass would be great too.

On a side note, I only travel to Aus about once a year and so it does not warrent me to join the Qantas club for one round trip a year. But will be in LAX for 8 hours before my flight, so hoping to get passes from ebay.

Thanks in advance

Similar passes have been auctioned on eBay for quite some time. Thee are several threads here about them. It is very difficult to image how a single seller in the UK could legitimately come across the number of passes that have been sold.

Certainly the passes that Qantas currently provide to Silver FF members, known as a complementary pass, do have the hologram and very specific wording on the reverse side regarding selling such passes. But that does not mean that these passes being sold on eBay are not legitimate passes. But they do appear to be different from the ones provided to silver FF members.

Could you post a link to an Ebay auction of a pass that you're unsure of?

Then we can look at the picture and give a better idea of what we think.

Qantas passes are given out to Silver FF"s when they earn their status, Some Qantas Amex cardholders who spend on Qantas services as well as being given to certain corporate/travel agent customers who give good trade to Qantas. There are also passes given out in certain 'customer recovery' situations. So there are plenty of 'legitimate' passes in the market.

My guess would be this auction - http://cgi.ebay.com/The-Qantas-Club-Complimentary-Airport-Lounge-Access_W0QQitemZ300275960484QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Travel_Travel_tickets_MJ?hash=item300275960484&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318

It's been a long while since I had and Silver comp passes, but these look like I remember then except for the holographic badge which none of mine ever had.

Those passes look exactly like the ones I receive every year from my Qantas Amex Premium Card, which are also the same as the one I received when I qualified QFF PS last year.

That listing on e-Bay has been removed. I would hazard a guess that we have lurkers from QF on AFF.

eBay said:
This listing (300275960484) has been removed or is no longer available. Please make sure you entered the right item number.
If the listing was removed by eBay, consider it canceled. Note: Listings that have ended more than 90 days ago will no longer appear on eBay.

I am sure we do have lurkers :) makes business sense.
But also i am sure QF now and again check out ebay, you know for lobster and wine as well as club passes

socalgal, when are you flying?

I may have a spare pass depending on your flight date, plus will be in Seattle in the next couple of weeks so getting it to you wont be an issue.
