The people who never get any response from airlines might be interested in my experience.

On Monday I got an op-up on QF 649 CNS - BNE.

My mother always brought me up to thank someone who does something nice for you, so on Tuesday I used the Qantas feedback section on the website to send an email to say 'thank you for the upgrade'.

On Wednesday afternoon I got a call on my mobile from a Qantas Customer Care representative to thank me for thanking them for the upgrade. She said they wanted to respond to me personally rather than just send a generic email acknowledging my feedback!

Seems they're quite happy to take a compliment, but they're not so keen to accept negative feedback!

I remember doing similar with particularly good service from a Cityrail employee once, to try to balance my numerous criticisms of them. ;) Unfortunately, it resulted in a semi-political e-mail back about how it was a good example of all the hard work and training they have put in to improve themselves, (rather than reflecting on the individual which is what I was intending).

Really, i have always got a call back from QF for anything, good or bad ! I am WP though so it would have an impact.
