In this mornings travel supplements is a Flight Centre Ad for Qantas domestic.
1 child (under12) travels free with 1 adult fare.
Onsale til end Feb for travel now til 30Jun
For those that must take chds away this is a nice way of halving the travel cost.No Easter blackouts from the T's & Cs on the bottom of the ad.
With a current sale on til Tues which crosses the Apr school hols.
So that means a QF fare for $89 oneway to BNE from SYD effectively becomes a $45 one way fare...that doesnt seem right. I cant see it or book an example on their Web site,it may need to be transacted over the phone or at a retail outlet
This doesnt apply to me but I'd love to hear if anyone actually uses it.

I will need to book flights for Mrs Shano and mini Shano BNE-MEL for about two weeks time.

Just did a dummy booking on the Flight Centre website and the child fare is the same as the adult fare.

As you suggested, maybe you do need to ring FC.

Flight Centre have a $10 booking fee for domestic tickets (instore/phone), plus a credit card surcharge. That would affect just how 'free' this offer is.

IIRC, Flight Centre have their big Travel Show in Brisbane this weekend. Perhaps someone going can find out more.

I cant see them charging a service charge to book a free ticket...and as for the adults ticket, id happily pay a $10 sc in order to get what coule be up to a $500 ticket for free.

Youd need to do it instore as it is something marketing would be reimbursing them for...why you might ask? because theyre obviously close but not close enough to their back end targets and its cheaper to give away tickets than lose their over rides...QF is FCs biggest backend override which is why they regularly offer substantial discounts on QF in order to assist their meeting their targets.
