Howdy

Can someone who flies a lot tell me if there is much difference on longer domestic flights (eg Sydney to Cairns) in business class based on the time and day you fly. Eg, is the service better on a weekday at 5pm than on a weekend at 10am?

Thanks

To save u sifting through the thread there is no real difference in offering between say a weekday or weekend as compared to economy class. Longer flights are usually broken up into brekkie, lunch, dinner and supper. Lunch and dinner would be more substantial with a second second service which is icecream or cheese and fruit as well on Perth flight. Brekkie second service is a biccie and a cup of tea. Supper is a cuppa on landing instead of second service to give u sleeping time.

Essentially not too much difference in offering but dinner and lunch flights would be more substantial (times vary check out that thread would probably be best). These times give u more chance to drink up but if u want half a bottle of red at 6 in the morning we are more than happy to serve it responsibly to you lol :)

If you have particular flights in mind I am more than happy to provide specific info ( I'm an f/a for QF by the way ) but hope the thread posted above can give u some more info.

Sorry for any mistakes this is posted from my phone and a bit difficult to use lol

The cabin is less likely to be full on weekends, that will affect the service levels in terms of the attention you get, in my experience that can be a good thing or a bad thing.

Indeed, I've had both my best J class flights and my worst on weekends. Tend to lean towards the better with more (sometimes lots of) individual attention but occasionally with little to do in the cabin the FAs retreat into the galley and are hard to lure out.

I agree with everything said here. I also add that midweek flights especially at the peak morning and evening times are understandably more hectic in J with many more platinum/emerald not to mention chairman's lounge pax flying, while not often acknowledged publicly such members will often recieve that little bit of extra attention, at the sacrifice of that of maybe points flight pax. Especially on the common business or 'city flyer' routes of mel, syd, can, bris, perth, adel. So cns may not be such an issue here.

I personally think it's as much the crew you get for the flight which makes the difference, and I haven't noticed there is any one time or day where you're more likely to get a good or bad crew, it's just luck of the draw. I'd be considering what meal options your likely to be given for a longer flight, and maybe A\C type (although for CNS I don't think there is really a choice) but that's about it.
